Aircraft Adventures and Flight ExperiencesWe've carefully assembled our favorite flying adventures into classic aircraft experiences and excursions that you will enjoy, available each flying day at CCAS Maine. We'll take you aloft over the rivers, lakes and mountains of Maine. You'll see wildlife in its natural setting, beautiful foliage in the fall and the Appalachian terminus -- get a bird's eye view of what makes Maine so very special. For pilots and flying enthusiasts, we offer customized floatplane, skiplane and tailwheel bush flying experiences and adventures. Perhaps you have a seaplane rating but don't own a floatplane. No problem--we'll provide a plane and pilot so that you can get out on the lakes and obtain some actual experience in the Maine woods! We also do the same for tailwheel qualified ski flying enthusiasts. CCAS Millinocket is home to some of the best ski and water flying terrain in the Northeast.
A. The West BrancherWe'll take you aloft over the exhilarating scenery of the West Branch of the Penobscot River, with spectacular views of lakes, rivers and mountains. You will likely spot the rafters as they plunge through the rapids-quite a sight from our lofty perch. Mount Katahdin will be right by us the whole time! Our airplanes sit one to three people, so be sure to bring friends. B. The Laker
This spectacular flight takes in some of the largest lake systems in New England. Steeped in the lore of the great North Woods, Ambejejus, Pemadumcook and Millinocket Lake will roll under your wings. Your flight will pass majestic Mount Katahdin, Maine's tallest peak and terminus of the Appalachian trail. C. In Front of the MountainThis introductory flight experience includes a trip to the environs of majestic Mount Katahdin for an exhilarating and unique look at the highest mountain in Maine. Look up; look down-the mountain is all around!
